Service Description

2026 is our sixth season offering this popular spectacular swimming day out. Please contact us on iconicswims@gmail.com to book your place or if you would like to discuss a private group day which we can offer a special group rate for. A short boat trip across the Solent takes you to the Wild West Wight and the magical swimming opportunities around this end of the Island (Isle of Wight swimmers can be collected from Yarmouth Harbour approximately 15 mins after Lymington departure time) Swims may include: - Swim under the cliffs from Alum Bay to the Needles Lighthouse - “Thread the Needles”, which means swimming in a loop around the majestic chalk stacks - Visit Lord Holmes's Caves underneath Tennyson Down - Swim with seals: occasionally swimmers get to swim with seals if they are around - Swim ashore to the beaches of Colwell, Totland, Alum, Scratchell's, or Freshwater Bay Maximum group size of eight people Wetsuits recommended but not supplied Tow floats and hats are supplied, and must be worn as part of our safety plan PLEASE NOTE: exact swim locations depend on weather conditions, sea state and tide Cancellation: if deemed by our skipper it is too windy for ANY swimming, all swimmers are offered either: an alternative date; a credit which can be used on a future date; or a full refund. What's included: -Transport by private swim charter vessel -Swim coaching -Lifeguard and guide -Picnic lunch, drinks and all-day cake (not part of whole-group bookings unless specified by you) Swimming distance: 3-5km (or more, depending on swimming abilities and conditions) Suitable for: - intermediate swimmers with some sea swimming experience. Please check before booking if you are in any doubt about your ability. We always begin our day with a simple swim safety check and if you are unable to swim around the boat in a moderate tidal current unfortunately we shall not be able to take you on most of our swims. - those confident swimming in deep water for between 15 mins & 1 hour - swimmers who are confident they will be able to climb the swim ladder back on board the pilot vessel (we can help you if necessary!)
